Operator-Led Supply Chain and Freight Consulting

Sherpa helps shippers buy freight better, and helps forwarders and logistics providers win more of the business they bid on. The advice comes from years inside the companies that price, bid and run global freight. Now it works on your side of the table.

A Sherpa guide looks out over a mountain valley at dusk, with a glowing freight route linking a port, warehouse and highway.

How Sherpa helps

Most work starts in one of these four areas. A lot of it ends up touching two.

Freight Procurement Consulting

Run a tender that carriers and forwarders take seriously. Compare bids like for like, and hold the award once it's signed.

Commercial Growth Consulting

For forwarders, NVOs and 3PLs. Answer more RFQs, price them to win without giving away margin, and run key accounts properly.

Network Optimization Consulting

Decide where freight should flow: which ports, warehouses and modes, with the cost and service trade-offs laid out in numbers.

Transformation & Integration Consulting

Fix the operating model behind the freight: who decides, how teams hand off, and what holds it together, for standalone or newly combined businesses.

Insider Knowledge, on Your Side of the Table

Gareth has sat on both sides of a freight tender. He's run the pricing desk that answers the RFP, built the ocean and intermodal products being bid, and led the strategic accounts that live or die on the award.

That's what Sherpa brings to a client. Shippers get someone who knows how a carrier's pricing desk reads their RFP, and where the cushion goes in. Logistics providers get someone who has built and run the commercial engine they're trying to build.

Who Sherpa works with

Shippers Importers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers with real freight spend and a lean logistics team.

  • A freight tender is coming up and you want carriers to price it sharply

  • Rates are up, service is down, and you're not sure the contract is being honored

  • You need to make a call on ports, warehouses or modes, and want the trade-offs in numbers

Forwarders and Logistics Providers Forwarders, NVOs and 3PLs that bid for shipper business.

  • You're answering more RFQs and winning fewer of them

  • Pricing is slow, inconsistent or quietly giving away margin

  • The sales team needs structure, not more activity

How Sherpa works

1. Start with the decision
A tender award, a network change, a pricing model. Sherpa pins down what you're actually deciding, using your data.

2. Find where the money moves
Most of the cost and risk sits in a handful of lanes, charges or contract terms. Sherpa finds those before anything gets rebuilt.

3. Build it and see it through
The tender, the network plan or the pricing process gets built with your team and carried through to the award or go-live.
